HINT BUTTON

In Hot Wheels: Unlimited, one of the activities you can do is to solve puzzles made out of incomplete Race Tracks.

One of the features I've worked on is the "Help Button". Some Puzzles have multiple solution. This button finds the best solution possible base on the player's solution.

This Helps button recharge every now and then to prevent abuse.

LEVEL DESIGN

PUZZLE DESIGN

In Hot Wheels: Unlimited, I was in charge to design puzzles of multiple difficulty. Since we have a lot of different track pieces and tricky mechanics, I had to establish a list of parameters that would affect the puzzle difficulty. I've created round about 200 different Puzzles.

RACE DESIGN

An Hot Wheels game wouldn't be a Hot wheel game without Cool race track. The sensation of speed is often interpreted through the movement in space. Therefore, having a packed environment help affecting the sense of speed. I've created up to 100 different Maps.

TRACK PIECE DESIGN

I was charged to design track pieces for the game. Some serve a particular mechanic. Others spice up the track with their look. Here's some of my favorites. Every Track piece that was designed for this project was based out of toys.

Loop

This is probably the most Iconic Track form Hot Wheel play set. What make's it so fun in the game, is the integration of the zipper boost. These boosts are short but power full. Since they are off set, you need to master a zig zag pattern to chain every boost.

Turn Kicker

Both connections of this track piece start with a Boost. While tilting vertically, you'll have to make a strong turn to avoid hitting the wall. This track is excellent for those who want's to master U-turn curves while gaining speed.

Gorilla Smash

This giant gorilla forces every racer to pass through his legs while he slams the floor with a track piece. If you're slammed, you're stunned for a short period of time. Although, if you're on the track while the gorilla lift it, you'll be sent far away!

Fuel Stop

This fuel stop spills gas on the floor that you'll have to dodge. Driving through it will make you skid and slowed down.
